Title: Creative Nonfiction Resources
Project Focus: This project will focus on additional resources that I’d like to provide to the students who take my creative nonfiction course.
Learning Goals: I am interested in doing this project because my students are way more technologically literate than I am and would therefore appreciate receiving supplemental information via website rather than via the old-fashioned way—paper handouts. I’m interested in doing a website because it will force me to practice new technology literacy skills that I have acquired in this course. This project will enhance my teaching in that I will have a supplemental resource that can be easily updated.

Components: Some possible components of my website will likely include different writers’ definitions of creative nonfiction; seminal authors and their works from ancient, modern, and contemporary eras; subgenres of creative nonfiction; and places to publish creative nonfiction.
Background: I will be using some of the information that I included in a paper that I wrote for a course last summer as it focused on using creative nonfiction to teach academic nonfiction. However, most of this paper was instructional. For my website assignment, I will need to go into more depth about the theory and practice of creative nonfiction.
Timeline: Since we only have about two weeks left of class, I will need to get half of my project completed this weekend and half completed the following weekend. This weekend I will begin with the technical aspects—actually setting up the website. The following weekend I will work on producing the information to be stored on the site.
Questions: How technically brilliant are you expecting these projects to be? I am a complete novice when it comes to website creation, so I’m concerned that the one that I create for this assignment will not be sophisticated enough.
